The Children’s Alopecia Project (“CAP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children living with alopecia by building self-esteem, providing support, and raising awareness. Our website is located at childrensalopeciaproject.org.

    • Register for events or camps (e.g., Alopeciapalooza, CAP Kid Camps) — names, ages of children, contact information, medical/dietary needs relevant to participation
    • Request a CAP2U Speaking Tour or house visit — your name, child’s name, school information, contact details
    • Sign up for our newsletter or mailing list — name, email address
    • Contact us via email, social media, or website forms — whatever information you choose to share
    • Participate in CAPCaresAboutYou.org — information needed to connect families with local support groups or mentors

Because our mission centers on children, we take extra care:

  • Parental/guardian consent: We require a parent or guardian to provide consent when registering a child for CAP programs, camps, or events. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
  • Limited collection: We only collect information about children that is necessary for program participation (e.g., name, age, dietary needs for camp).
  • No public display: We do not publicly post children’s personal information without explicit parental/guardian consent.
  • COPPA compliance: We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete it.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child’s information has been collected without your consent, please contact us at the address in Section 10 and we will remove it.
